State Police Arrest Drug Store Employee for Stealing Pills
Houma (LSP) - On October 27, 2008, The Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division/ Houma Office began a drug theft investigation after speaking with Gerard Robinette of Walgreens’ Loss Prevention concerning the theft of pills by a Walgreens’ employee.
Robinette said that Danesha Lyons was suspected of stealing numerous Soma and Hydrocodone pills from the Walgreens Pharmacy at 1435 W. Tunnel Boulevard in Houma, LA. State Police met with Lyons to conduct an interview. During the interview, she admitted to stealing the following pills over three separate thefts: 200 dosage units of Soma and 1200 dosage units of Hydrocodone. She admitted that she was stealing the pills for a black male, who she would not identify. This unknown black male was in turn selling the pills in Terrebonne Parish. The unknown suspect would then pay Danesha Lyons her for her assistance. Lyons stated that she received approximately $1025.00 as payments for the thefts. According to Robinette, the value of the stolen pills is approximately $2200.00.
Danesha Lyons was arrested and charged with the following:
* 14:67; Three counts of Theft
* 40:968; Three counts of Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance III (Hydrocodone)
* 40:1238.1; Three counts of Distribution of a Legend Drug (Soma)
This investigation is ongoing as Walgreens Pharmacy employees continue to inventory their stock.
