Officials Investigate Plane Crash in East Houma

Houma (TPSO) - On September 24, 2009, Thursday afternoon at 12:42 p.m. the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified of an airplane crash in the cane field area south of Woodlawn Ranch Rd.

Deputies arrived at the scene and learned that this was a single engine airplane crash whereas the pilot was flying alone during this incident. Shortly afterwards it was confirmed that there was only one death related to this crash. This airplane was a company owned four-passenger single engine airplane.

The deceased pilot in the crash has been positively identified as Solomon James Falgout Jr., age-61, of East Park Ave. Houma, La. Solomon was employed as a pilot for Daybrook Fisheries. Falgout left from the Houma Airport at approximately 6:00 a.m. Falgout last radio traffic was received at approximately 6:05 a.m. this morning.
