TPSO responded to the couple’s residence in Chauvin at approximately 10:45 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a 911 call in reference to a non-responsive infant. Upon the arrival of medical personnel and TPSO, the child was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that the deceased child had extensive bruising about his body including several broken bones. Further investigation revealed that Henderson smothered the infant after the child refused to stop crying. A specific cause of death is pending an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday morning in Jefferson parish.
Nelton’s other son, a two year old, was removed from the residence and treated at Terrebonne General Medical Center for several bruises and contusions about his body and head. He has been placed in the care of other family members.
