Update: Missing Person

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office - On January 23, 2012, Monday afternoon at approximately 1:00 p.m. a Terrebonne Parish deputy responded to the Ashland North subdivision, 3485 Fallon Dr., Houma in reference to a missing person. Deputies arrived at this location and contacted the mother of the missing person. She advised that her son, Herbert Johnson Jr., suffers with mental illness and has not taken his medication.
Johnson was last seen running into the wooded area behind Fallon Dr. in Ashland North. Terrebonne Parish deputies and family members of Johnson searched for several hours and were unable to locate him. The search of the wooded area ceased after daylight hours ended. On January 24, 2012, Tuesday and Wednesday, January 25, 2012, Terrebonne Parish deputies and detectives continued the search of the area. There were deputies walking this wooded area while others rode on four wheelers. The Sheriff's Office was also assisted by the Louisiana Search / Rescue Dog Team who has dogs that specialize in human searching. Also, U.S. Coast Guard, Petroleum Helicopters Inc. (PHI), Air Log Helicopters and Era Helicopters of Houma searched the area for several hours in their helicopters but were unable to locate Mr. Johnson. 
Deputies and detectives patrolled different areas of Terrebonne Parish to include visiting all of the local hotels. Detectives obtained information that Mr. Johnson or a person with a very similar appearance was seen in the Smithridge area on Monday, 1/23/2012. Detectives also received information that a person of this same description was seen in the parking of the East side of Houma Wal-Mart on Tuesday night, 1/24/2012. The last know possible clothing description is that he was wearing cut off blue jeans shorts (about knee high) with a dirty white T-shirt. Anyone who has information concerning Mr. Hebert Johnson Jr. is asked to call the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office immediately, (985)876-2500.
